The cover is a reproduction of the red- Morocco leather binding of a volume bearing Pope Clement XIII's coat of arms, representative of the friendship that bound Giovanni Battista Piranesi to the Rezzonico family and, therefore, to Pope Clement XIII to whom the famous engraver, architect and architectural theorist dedicated several works.
