This little and precious volume is part of the series of books entitled “Pensieri” by Benedict XVI and edited by prof. Lucio Coco, esteemed expert in Christian literature.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Vatican Council II, the volume proposes a selection of texts by Benedict XVI on this ecclesial event, that the Holy Father wanted to remember by declaring the Year of Faith.

Lucio Coco, expert in Christian ancient Greek and Latin Literature, has worked as researcher in the field of apophthegmatic tradition of desert fathers and mothers. On the theme of depression, he has published the letter entitled A Stagirio by John Crhysostom and Le omelie sulla Passione del Signore by the same father of Antioch. He is, furthermore, editor of patristic anthologies on the themes of envy and reading. He is taken up with the study of the ascetic corpus by Evagrius Ponticus and of ethical texts by Photius, the Patriarch of Constantinople.
