Ottant’ anni della radio del Papa - 2 volumi in cofanetto

80 years and still growing: born in 1931, Vatican Radio broadcasts on all continents in 45 languages​​, manages content in 38 languages on its website, has a staff of 355 people of 59 different nationalities, has more than 66 hours of broadcasting daily, for a total of 24,117 hours per year. It is on Twitter and YouTube.
Two volumes in a unique collection have been published to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Vatican Radio. They aim to indicate how the Vatican Radio – an institution and a group of persons – has served seven Popes realizing that it has a mission to complete; namely a message to spread and a duty to search for other means of diffusion. Fernando Bea, author of the first volume, has gathered all the recollections, events that took place in the first  half of the century, namely from 1931 till 1981. In the second half of the century Alessandro De Carolis has terminated the work starting from the Pontificate of John Paul II till our present time. Of precious value is the work done by Fr. Felix Juan Cabasés. In his work, he gave a detailed chronology of the important steps made in the history of the Vatican Radio in order to be read in comparison with the present Universal Church.
